A support beam from the World Trade Center
(Tribute to 9/11 from the city of Naperville, IL. We drove from Chicago to Naperville and saw this memorial at the Riverwalk)

Today marks the 10th year anniversary of a very important part of history not only for the United States of America but for all mankind. A tragedy that ends the lives of innocent people and shattered the hearts of the living. I remember where and what I was doing that very moment. I was inside the house doing my chores while the TV was on and I remembered I left my phone inside my room so I decided to go upstairs. After a few steps a breaking news struck me. I stopped at the middle of the stairs and turned my head towards the television, I saw black smoke coming out the World Trade Center. It was scary and I cried, for a moment I forgot everything that I was supposed to do.

Where were you during that time?

Do you still remember?

Ten years after it is still sad.The kind of event that it should never be forgotten for the fact that hundreds are never been seen nor recover. My hubby said last night it was like they are all cremated in plain sight, what a very sad thing to happen.

In Memory

The day is as clear today as it was 10 years ago. The events were a declaration of war, and in war, our lives are changed even if we knew of anyone killed at the time. I am of the opinion that the videos and such from the day need to be watched often to try to grasp not just the evil - but the heroism and courage that regular people showed in the face of evil (such as the loss of the NYC fire and police officers and United 93)...

This artwork in steel is subtle, and nice - that is, the cold steel is actually peaceful as it sits quietly near the wall.

We must all never forget!

Where is this beam, Mikaella? I think everyone remembers where they were—I was in a subway directly under the towers when the first plane hit. The trains stopped running right after I got to work.

@Kim, USA

I know what you mean sis! But the good thing now is that they have a great memorial at Ground Zero.

@Ralph

A steel that reminds us the end and the beginning at the same time... a beginning of a stronger country.

I remember I was preparing for dinner that time (we're on the other side of globe.) while the TV was on. My father called me to say that some huge building in New York was burning. We stood transfixed as the sad event unfolded right before our very eyes. I do hope it'll never happen again.

My RT is up too.

Me too, I was in Philippines and horrified by the news. It was in the T.V. like months and months. I pray for those poor souls from the terrorist attack. BTW sis, you are from Illinois pala. Are you interested in exchanging postcards? Would love to receive a state map from your state and I can send you one from my state. I'm your follower na pala. Hope you followed my blog and join my blog anniv giveaways this month. Glad to visit here from RT.
